My new iPhone SE often won't update Notes

We keep our grocery list in a Note shared among Notes on iCloud, an iPad, an iPhone 6, an iPhone 5c, A 2009 MacBook Pro running El Capitan, a 2015 MacBook Pro running Mojave, and a (new) iPhone SE. All sync flawlessly with each other EXCEPT my iPhone SE does not update the grocery list very often. When I touch that little sharing icon second-from-the-right-at-the-top-of-the-Notes, the iPhone screen flashes and produces an alert:


Couldn't Connect

There may be a problem

with the server. Please try

again later.


The odd thing is, that my iPhone SE DOES update now and then, when I'm not looking. Also, updates entered on my iPhone SE propagate to our other devices pretty quickly.



Any ideas how to research what's happening here?

It appears that you are having some issues with connecting to the iCloud server when attempting to share notes from the Notes app. We would love to assist you with resolving this issue with the Notes app.


First, we see that based on your screenshot that you are currently using your LTE cellular network. Let's try connecting the iPhone to wi-fi and attempting to share the note again: Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


If the issue persists after connecting to wi-fi, try force closing the app and restarting the iPhone:

Restart your iPhone
