Can't open terminal from finder folder

I know you can do this. I set the preferences keyboard shortcuts services to open new terminal in folder. I've tried this with and without actually assigning a keyboard shortcut. It's supposed to show in the folder on finder services, but I get No services apply and just a link to open services preferences (where I just had set this up). Actually, I had done this before and used it, but now for some reason nothing happens and I don't get the option. I don't get the option from any finder folder, no matter if it's in the boot or an external drive.

I read articles on how to set this up and they mentioned that right-clicking would show the option, but that doesn't happen either. So, how can I just open a terminal window from inside a finder folder so it will open automatically in that folder and I don't have to cd over to it? It's also a pain because I don't know how to easily type a terminal command that even opens on a drive other than the boot drive.

Can someone please help me with this?

Right-clicking a folder should reveal a contextual menu with a Services > choice containing applicable services that should include New Terminal Tab at Folder among others. If that isn't happening I don't have an explanation. There is nothing to set up.

Try reinstalling macOS. Your profile information is showing OS X 10.11 which probably isn't correct, but to reinstall macOS please read How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. Back up your Mac first.

I know you'd prefer Services works correctly but cd followed by dragging the volume icon (or any folder, for that matter) into the Terminal window will do it.

Yes, that profile information is very old and probably for a prior MacBookPro I had. The current Mac has been running on HIgh Sierra and all current updates perfectly fine up to now. I did the installation with Apple Support on the phone. As I mentioned, I had done this before and was able to see the Option to open the New Terminal from the Finder Folder.

It is solved. Nothing in the instructions said that I had to reboot the Mac for the preference to take effect. When I rebooted the option appeared in both the Finder, Services and on right-clicking. Sorry about my expectation and not having tried the reboot. I just noticed when I booted up this morning.
