In Pages, can we highlight multiple, separate lines of text?

In Pages, working with text, is there any way to highlight multiple yet separate lines of text? Yes, I know, with subtitles, for example, you can change the formatting and thus change them all. But, what if it is better not to use those functions, and you just want to highlight some text here, then there, then somewhere else and change them all at the same time.

A previous discussion, now closed, said that this option, like holding the shift key when selecting multiple highlights, was deleted from Pages a few years ago, never to return. Is that truly the case? If so, the Pages programmers have missed a very nice, easy to use feature, forcing us into the subtitle vs. body, vs. caption mode to try to change more than one thing at a time. Wouldn't shift/highlight be so much easier for so many uses?

Other than Pages '09 v4.3, where it was supported, there has been no non-contiguous text selection in Pages since Oct. 2013.

You certainly can directly send the Pages product team your input about restoring this feature from your Pages application menu. They have ignored other such requests now for seven years.
