Will iTunes ever allow me to drag a folder into a playlist again?

This was one of the best features of iTunes. I could create a playlist as I wanted, and just drag the music folder and drop it into the playlist as I wanted.


I know they have stopped this for some years now, but it made life so much easier. I hope they bring it back again, as I cannot see any good reason for getting rid of it in the first place.


Mac's are the best computers for just doing what you need to do, but this is taking us into the realm of being a windows user.

Anyone who knows what features Apple plan to add or remove would be under NDA and couldn't possibly comment. As a workaround you can use File > Add to Library to import the folder, then sort the Songs view of the library by Date Added, descending, select your recent imports, and right-click to create a playlist from the selection.
