Verification required message
My son is on my family sharing. He has been trying to make a purchase, I approve it and then it tells him he needs “verification required”. He enters the CVV from my credit card and nothing happens.

It sounds like your son is trying to purchase an app while being part of a Family Sharing group and after entering the CVV number it still does not allow him to download. We know how important it is for him to be able to download apps as needed. You've come to the right place for help.
Let's go ahead and open Settings on his device then go to iTunes & App Store > tap the Apple ID > View Apple ID > Payment Information. This should prompt for the security CVV code. This is an extra step to verify the payment information for the card on file.
