What do I do if my iPhone is expanding?

My screen is expanding and starting to separate from the iPhone body. I am assuming this is a battery issue but I can't get anyone at Apple Support to confirm this or tell me what type of repair service to initiate. It's frustrating when you literally can't get a company to take your money.

In my experience, Apple will probably give you a replacement phone for the price of a battery service once they confirm that you didn't contribute to the phone's demise. Very often they will replace the phone because they can't be sure that the dying battery hasn't caused some collateral damage that would have haunted you later. It is more cost effective to give you another phone and refurbish your old phone at their leisure.

Of course, how long this might take is unpredictable. My replacement iPad (new, faulty Home button, Jan 2019) took two days and my replacement iPhone 6 (fat battery, Mar 2020) took one day. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.

I had the charging port on my IPhone 6s completely stop working a little over a month ago and contacted Apple about getting it fixed. With the pandemic in full swing, it would have been a ridiculous Time before I would have gotten it back. So I just bought a new iPhone se. BUT! I figured, I would go ahead and try to repair the iPhone 6s since It was already not working at all. If I Ended up ruining it more, oh well. So I ordered the replacement part from ifixit.com for $34.00. It arrived maybe 4 days later. Also let me say I am NOT tech savvy on any level, software or hardware. I am capable of following written intructions, which u can find on the same site (ifixit.com). The instructions have actual photo images to go with each step, They walk you through the complete process from taking it part to putting the last screw back in. And let me tell you, a new battery replacement is WAY LESS invasive than a new charging port!! I think a new battery replacement kit was around $50.00... And the part also comes with all the little tools that you’ll need for the whole process. Like I said I’m no tech person at all, just a stay at home mom. Check ‘me out and see what you think. Or u can wait for Apple repair. 😉

Thanks! I made this assumption a few days ago and requested a battery replacement service based on my limited understanding but I am not a hardware technician. Do you have any concept of how long it takes? Their website says 3-5 days but that seems ridiculously optimistic.

I sent my Apple Watch to them several years ago and it took 2+ weeks and that was supposed to also be a matter of days. And then we weren't in a pandemic or dealing with defunding of the postal service either. :)
