Merge two Apple id accounts

Can I merge two Apple id accounts. I have an old Apple id from 2012 associated with the purchase of Finale cut pro. It allways gives me problem when updating. Can I change the id to the one used today.

You can't merge Apple IDs. You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs.

Thanks for the information. I guess I can live with one extra ID only used for updating programs
