I have been trying to log into an old Apple ID to retrieve the many songs I purchased with it and I can't although I did quite recently. I am not pleased that iTunes is over and unhappy with Apple Music. How can I retrieve my library with that ID?

What happens when you try? Error message(s)?
It says the ID is incorrect or no longer supported. I was in the account not long ago so I am puzzled. I want my music back.
