FCPX 10.4.9 update and suddenly unusably slow

I updated my FCPX software to the most recent update and suddenly it is unusable. It's incredibly slow, and I can't figure it out. I have restarted my laptop several times, deleted FCPX and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to work.

Anyone experiencing similar issues? Any advice on how to fix the issue?

Cheers

I see that you have Color Finale. It is up to date?

Any other plugins, particularly any from CoreMelt? There is a known issue where CoreMelt plugins need to be uninstalled and reinstalled to work in 10.4.9.

Also, do you need to have torrent software running?

I see also that you have NTFS software from Paragon. Is it up to date?

I've got the same exact issues OS 10.15.6 MacBookPro 15", 2.4 Ghz, 8-Core i9, 32GB 2400 DDR4, 1GB SSD, Radeon Pro Vega 20 4GB, Intel UHD 630 1536MB, FCPX 10.4.9.

It reminds me of the old days, when we had to click of the Background Render to work. Yes I do have Coremelt, and Motion VFX and Tuxera, and some more...but the only thing that changed was FCPX, so its should be something fixable in FCPX. I've got patience, but my clients don't.

The media is all 4K 25p Rec. 709 from a SONY a73....

....working in a 4K 25p timeline, with about 100GB of footage on an external 2TB Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD.

....450 GB free on my macHD and 1 TB free on my external Sandisk.

If any of you have had any solutions with the reformats or any other solutions let me know... thanks... APPLE PLEASE UPDATE!!!!!!

1) I don't use chrome and have exactly the same problem

2) OP used chrome before and after updating FCPX and the problem started exactly after updating

3) To reiterate, the problem started immediately upon upgrading FCPX, nothing else. Bouncing around telling everybody to tear apart their systems and reinstall/uninstall/abandon all the rest of their software and practices on a snipe hunt and ignoring the one very probable culprit does no service. Why won't anybody hold Apple accountable instead of blaming 10,000 unrelated things?

I am running a iMac Pro 10.15.6. 3ghz, 10core, 32ram, Vega64. Since the latest update FCPX runs like *****. Installed 10.4.10 today and there's a minor improvement from .9 but the drop in performance/responsiveness from 10.4.8 is stark. I have issues with importing XML files from our other iMac as well, where as it just crashes when trying to import. I agree with other posters, asking to format and reinstall for an incremental update is unacceptable, especially in a professional environment.

So now I'm on 10.4.10 , things are lookin' better....

I paid for the full version of Etrecheck...while I'm very computer savvy...Etrecheck didn't help me. It just gave me a bunch of information that may or may not be considered arbitrary. No issues major issues. So don't get me wrong the information is good, but it didn't serve a purpose in speeding things up. The update fixed 90% of the speed issue.

So in my case Etrecheck turned out to be a waste of money. ;(
