Wireless Carplay - Music Stream Audio Delay

When I use wireless carplay I get an audio delay at the start of each song, around 2 seconds of silence.

I dont get this issue with bluetooth streaming on other devices like airpod pro, or airmod or through the MMI factory software in the car. This is a retrofit carplay device from RSNAV.

I am using an Iphone 8 Plus on 13.6.1.

Otherwise it is fine but this glitch is a little annoying, any thoughts on a solution or if it is a known issue and likely to be resolved in ios 14.
