Sign into itunes store pop up

It keeps asking me to sign into the itunes store and put in my password but when i do it goes away and then a second later asks again and when i click cancel it still doesn't go away. It's correct apple id and password because when i purposely mess up the password itll pop up in red saying i'm wrong but when i put in correct stuff it just pops up again asking for password. I can't update my macbook pro because you can't quit the itunes pop up, you can only hide it. Is there a fix to this bug? I've signed in and out of my icloud and app store.

It’s nice to meet you gentlegiant2,

The Apple Support Community really appreciate this post. Based on your description, you’re having issues getting your Mac to accept the password for the iTunes Store. We're happy to provide some guidance.

A good place to start is to check for and install any macOS updates: How to update the software on your Mac.

We also recommend booting into safe mode, logging in and testing to see if the issue persists. You can find the steps for safe mode located here:  How to use safe mode on your Mac

If you’re still noticing issues after safe mode, check to see if this is something that's isolated to just your user on your Mac, or if it's system-wide. Please use the steps from the section “Add a user” to create a new user on your Mac: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If the issue persists, please reach out here for additional support: Get Support

Have a fantastic rest of your day!
