I have a Apple Ipode that I bought at pawn shop 5 years ago and I never put a Apple ID in it know it’s asking for one

Are you seeing an Activation Lock? Where is it asking for the Apple ID?
If you can't reach the previous owner and have them remove the device from their account, the device is worthless. Apple won't unlock it for you.
