Applying a camera lut to edit photo in FCPX

I am trying to make a comparison of GH5 photo styles. I have created a project which really consists of different photos lined up in the timeline, each shot using different GH5 styles: Standard, Natural, Vivid,...Vlog L.

I want to edit the Vlog photo within the timeline using GH5's camera LUT. To look for the LUT I first select the photo, look at the info section and change it to General but cannot find the menu with options to change the LUT.

Could it be that camera LUTs cannot be applied to photos?

I am using FCPX 10.4.8 and MacOS 10.5.6 Catalina.

Your help sorting this out will be appreciated.

You cannot apply Camera LUTs to still images, but you can apply Custom LUTs.

While Camera LUTs are applied from the Info Inspector, and affect the image before any of the effects are applied, Custom LUTs are applied as an effect, and in the order they appear in the effects stack.

But a LUT is a LUT, so you can manually copy your Camera LUTs to the folder containing the Custom LUTs and use it that way.

Custom LUTs are in

/Users/(yourname)/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Custom LUTs

Camera LUTs (those that are not already built-in) are in

/Users/(yourname)/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Camera LUTs
