Unless this VPN is a private VPN creating a tunnel to your workplace or educational institution, uninstall it.
Are you saying your VPN creates a tunnel between your residences? If connected to the VPN then the route to the Internet is managed by the VPN server you are connected to. Disable the VPN then you should be able to connect to the Internet.
I’ve been using this VPN from my residences (I’m a snowbird) for several years. This just started. I did something simple at my “summer” home and it was resolved. Now I’m at my southern home and I can’t remember how I resolved it.
This not only happens at my residences, but everywhere I've tried to login to the internet. (My southern "house" is offline when I'm up north.)
