On my MacBook Air, iPhone 11and iPad, Safari pops up with a mini browser window constantly. Not ads just a miniature search window-how do I get rid of these? Popups during texting, in my main search Pages, soooo annoying. Just started recently. I have “ block Popups”” enabled on all my devices. Is this another unwanted feature from a current update? I am exhausted clearing safari history all day long.
By the way I notice that the iPad keyboard insists on using upper case letters mid-sentence which cannot be removed (see above). Is there a gnome in my device?
Maybe “pop-ups” aren’t your issue. Instead, perhaps, you have managed to enable a Safari Slide Over view - this being a major multitasking feature of iPadOS, fully detailed in the iPad User Guide for iPadOS.
To transform a Slide Over view, to Split Screen, use the grey drag-bar at the top of the Slide Over Window; drag downwards and to towards the side of the screen. As the view changes, lift your finger. Done.
It’s also worth noting that you can easily change a Slide Over to Full Screen view in a similar way. This time, using the same drag-bar, drag to the top-centre of the screen, then release.

I hope this explanation and additional information is helpful in resolving any difficulties you may be having with Multitasking and Auto-capitalisation features of your iPad.

Thank you LP: very good information and resources. Before posting, I checked w/google, got suggestions for turning off the slide-view (redundant for me)--couldn't find the tab they suggested in Settings, but after using the Settings search function and entering "Multitasking" I found the correct tab, turned off all multi-tasking.
iPads are notorious for wonky bugs, like this slide view (and I am quite certain I did not enable slide-view!) and autocorrect.
