How do I mirror my iPad onto my MacBook?

Hi there, I'd like to mirror what's on my iPad's display onto my MacBook's display. I was expecting it to work like when I mirror my iPad's display onto my AppleTV. I've Googled this and haven't found the right answers. Most results talk about sidecar or mirroring my MacBook onto my iPad. I appreciate your help in advance!

iPad and iPhone do not support Screen Mirroring to another iOS/iPadOS device or Mac.

Screen Mirroring is available to an external monitor or TV over an HDMI or AirPlay connection.

An iPad Pro can be used with a compatible Mac to extend the Mac display to the iPad using the Catalina/iPadOS Sidecar feature.

An alternative third-party product, Duet, can be used to extend a PC or Mac to an iPad:

It isn’t possible to do the reverse, i.e., extend the iPad display to another computer. You can, however, use iPad’s mirroring function to display a replica of the iPad screen on a TV or external monitor - using either AirPlay or over an HDMI connection.
