HELP NEEDED!!! Storage Anomally

Shows I have 669Gigs available after deleting lots of items. But is also shows used 982 Gigs on a 1TB drive.

When I go to import a video into FCPX is says I only have 33Gigs of space!!! How is this and how can I fix it, it won't let me import the video as its 188 Gigs and I need to have it finished in editing by tomorrow evening.

In principle these should go away automatically if you let Time Machine do its thing and update your backup.

In case it doesn't, you can thin those snapshots and recover some of that space.

In Terminal, paste the following:

sudo tmutil thinlocalsnapshots / 50000000000 4

You will be asked for your password. Type it blindly (there is no feedback, not even *** or ••• as you type!) and press enter.

The big number above is the number of bytes you try to reclaim.
