Safari stops responding on Fox News website?

In using Safari on the Fox News website, the website loads and is initially responsive to my trackpad on a MacBook Pro 2017 running Safari 13.1.2 & MacOS 20.15.6. After only 10-15 seconds the trackpad is unable to navigate on the site - totally unresponsive, except that it will close the tab or reload the site (only to have the same thing occur 10-15 seconds after loading). This is not happening with any of my other websites. Anyone having this issue? Is there a fix? I've dumped my history and restarted Safari and done a hard reboot of my MacBook but the problem persists.

I may have found a solution:

Click on the following:

Safari->Preferences->Websites

If you have an entry for Foxnews set it to "Allow All Auto Play"

That resolved it for me.

Same here. FoxNews locks up Safari completely. MacOS 10.15.6 Safari 13.1.2

Same issue here. Only FoxNews. Doesn't happen on Chrome. MacOS 10.15.6 Safari 13.1.2. Apple led me through all the obvious solutions and I re-installed the MacOS. Nothing works.

Yes. Catalina (10.15.6) is my MacOS. Safari (13.1.2) is my Web browser.

Seems to have done the trick for me, too. Man, I wouldn't have found that in a million years! Thanks! And, Safari is noticeably more responsive, too!

I agree! So incredibly irritating. Worked fine for years, and now its broken. How is it that someone at FoxNews or Apple can't see that this isn't right and fix it?
