MacBook Air 2020 Powerchime

Hello, I'm extremely new to the MacBook Air. Prior to the MacBook Air I have been using windows for a couple years. When I got my MacBook Air a couple weeks ago, I noticed whenever I plug the power cord into my MacBook it makes this chime noise (even when the volume is muted). I am aware these questions were answered before and I have tried the solutions to no avail. Is there anyway I can turn the MacBook power chime off? My OS is Catalina 10.15.6 and I have the MacBook Air 2020. Thanks.

If you don't want the noise of it, plug a headphone adapter into the headphone jack.

The startup chime on the mac is actually part of the startup self tests, the chime is there to

tell you your mac has passed these tests.

One way to hush it up is to hit the Mute button before you power down.

There used to be apps out there you could download which will suppress the chime,

just have a search.

Thanks for responding. I like the startup chime (I actually enabled it myself). What I mean is the charging chime. The little chime your iPhone makes when you plug it in. Thats the sound I'm trying to disable on my MacBook Air 2020. Thanks though :)

Hello, thanks for the quick response. I tried your solution but I still hear the chime play from the external speakers.
