Transitions not available in iMovie

I have been using iMovie for a long time with no problems. Recently when I want to create a project,

the transitions feature is not working. All of the other functions work perfectly.

Maybe it happened when I did the most recent update?

Here is a screenshot of the situation.

Maybe someone can give me suggestions?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

You might also try redownloading iMovie. To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.

I just discovered a new glitch in iMovie

The green/blue screen function is not working!

When I try to use the green/blue screen function, it reverts to the cutaway option.

Cutaway, split screen and picture in picture are still working.

Seems like after the recent update, it screwed up iMovie.

Still NO transition feature.

Would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks!

Came across this on the internet to fix iMovie saying

“Application Not Responding” every time I try to open iMovie

Step 1. Navigate to Finder and then enter Applications. Locate iMovie and right click on it.

Step 2. From the drop-down list, you can see the option of Show Package Content.

Step 3. Select MacOS and then click the iMovie to Launch option to get rid of iMovie not responding issue.

This popped up on the screen.

What does it mean?

Like I said in earlier post, previously created projects in MY user account were not available to Guest user.

I think that might not be the case if your iMovie library is located on an external drive, and you open iMovie in that library from your Guest account. So, try opening your Guest account and then go over to your iMovie library on your external drive and double click on it to open iMovie. The Guest account is only restricted on your internal drive, as I recall.
