Best docking station for Macbook Pro 13 inch 2020

For just the monitor you don't need a dock, just a USB-C to mini-DisplayPort adapter or cable. If you want to connect other peripherals and/or power your Mac, the 'best docking station' will depend on what you want to connect.

I have zero personal or financial connection to CalDigit.

That said, I do use a small number of their products, and have made a single "please clarify for me" support call; all of which have given me no cause for concern.

As a result, I've recommended them to others (as they are in in Apple Store) but don't want to steer anyone astray.

Might I inquire as to the basis of your comment simply for my own personal interest?

A combination of personal experience and the multiple reports of problems on these forums with wake from sleep issues using the CalDigit TB3 dock and recent-model MBPs. I put them down to randomness or user configurations, and ordered one (the space gray being a nice match for the three MBPs on the desk at home). My wife's new 2020 13" MBP (4 TB3 ports) had the same reported issue with the Mac essentially straight out of the box (just updated macOS and installed Microsoft 365, nothing migrated). So I returned the CalDigitdock and bought another Elgato TB3 dock which works perfectly (I have been using one at work for ~2 years, although working from home since March thus the desire for a dock/monitor setup at home, too).

I can't speak to other CalDigit products, though – the TB3 dock was my only experience with them.

Generally, Thunderbolt 3 docks from Elgato, OWC, Belkin and Kensington work well with Macs. I'd avoid CalDigit.
