icloud mail not responding error message

I wonder if you can help. I cannot send or receive email on my icloud of devices. I have this error message. Can anyone help me- any help very much appreciated. Thank you

Have been getting an error message when sending email's from Mail I use an iCloud email address in the mail app built into iOS. Today I noticed that I was not receiving emails and when I try to send emails I get this message (see below), but the message still goes through. I tried to remove the account, reconnect it, and used the connection doctor. Still having issues, any thoughts?

mail has stopped responding I am not able to access my icloud email. Tried via mobile and web. The message that appears is this: An error has prevented this application from working properly. Help Apple improve its products by sending us diagnostic and usage information about Mail. Is there a problem with the Apple server?
