phone will not turn on at all

My phone was showing signs of life up until about an hour ago after only displaying the charger indicator and the link to the Apple Support page. Now when i try to turn it on or charge it nothing happens whatsoever, charging port is clear - i've checked it many times. I have a feeling its either water damage or something technological/mechanical far past my knowledge.

iPhone X, iOS 13

Showing a lightning bolt without actually charging is often a sign of a failing USB cable.

Do you have access to another iPhone or iPad? The odds are very good that your problem is in your charging system and not your iPhone. If at all possible, find someone with an iPhone or iPad running iOS 13. Plug that person's Lightning cable into your iPhone and see if it doesn't come to life.

If you can't get out of the house, go on line and invest a few bucks in a new Apple-made or Apple-certified Lightning-to-USB cable. Plug your phone into a known good USB source (like your PC). In my experience, the Lightning cable is the weakest link in the chain. Good luck.
