Why is my Iphone XR only getting EDGE service (no 4G or 3G)?
I've had my Iphone XR for just over a year now. Everything has worked perfectly in the past. I travelled recently and kept my device on the entire time, with 4 bars of service, but did not enable data roaming and only used internet for data downloads (for context - not sure it relates to the issue). When I returned, my phone never reverted back to receiving 4G service (or even 3G) and instead has been stuck on EDGE, so I can't even load an app or website. I've spent many hours speaking to Vodafone, and even ordered a new SIM card, but I know it's a problem with the IPhone because I've checked the SIM on another device and it gets 4G.
I've tried everything I can find:
- Simple restart and toggling airplane mode on and off
- Forced restart
- APN Settings
- Ensuring that 4G is toggled on, Mobile data is on, etc
- I have the most up to date software (iOS 13.7)
- Finally, I've done a factory reset - both 'Erase All Content and Settings' and 'Reset Network Settings'
Does anyone know what I am missing and how I can fix this very annoying issue?
