Whats the point of Family Sharing? It is a fancy way of doing something insecure
Me and my parents have iPhone devices. I used to have my Apple ID set on all three which is insecure but all three devices will get access to the purchased apps.
Then, I learned about Family Sharing. I've set up myself as an organizer and my parents as adult family members. Now they have their own Apple IDs and their own credentials and I get to share purchased apps with them but then all these problems pop up.
- I moved from my home country so I changed my region. After changing my region, my parent's IDs also changed region. Why?
- If my parents wants to update a free app like Youtube that I downloaded first with my Apple ID then they get asked for my Apple ID password. Why? What did I benefit from Family Sharing? My parents are still using my password so its no different from having my Apple ID set in their devices. They benefited nothing from Family Sharing and having separate IDs and credentials.
So my only option is to remove Family Sharing all together since it caused nothing but trouble and have my parents purchase any app they need again on their Apple ID...
Family Sharing is pointless. Please update it to be more useful and more secure. For starters allow organizers to allow adult family members to update free apps using their credentials
