LG slim DVD writer won't connect to MacBook Pro

So I bought the LG dvd drive and when I put in a blank CD so I can burn music onto it, the drive nor the CD pop on the desktop. The DVD player is blinking and making noise but it just won't pop up on the desktop. Any idea what I can do?

Hello Gissell10011754,

It sounds like you have an LG DVD drive and when you plug it in it lights up and makes noise but doesn't show up on your desktop. You can edit what shows up on the desktop when connected, you can do this by editing the Finder preferences, check out this link for support.

Change Finder preferences on Mac

If the issue persists there are a few steps you could try to resolve this issue.

  • Restart your Mac.

Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac
