I recently bought a Magic Trackpad and Keyboard on fleabay but cannot seem to permanently change their bluetooth names. I can rename them during a session but whenever I log back in they revert back to original names!! Help so far has been as useful as a chocolate teapot just repeating parrot fashion Apple advice. Any tips I should know/learn?

1 Connect Device
2 Go to settings, right click on device, don't click the menu, leave it open
3 Turn off device
4 Select "rename" in the still open right click menu
5 rename the device and close the pop up
6 Turn device back on and connect

I have seen this before, and it seems there might be a bug with renaming older devices on the newest mac OS.
You could try to rename it from another device, or contact apple if they have a solution, or if they are working on it.

Seems its a bug (Cr)Apple don't or won't fix.. this topic can be locked as someone else on here has found a solution!!
