iCloud is full and it stores messages that I can't even see.

I cloud is full and it stores messages that I can't even see. How do I delete them to open up space? When I had to remove and restore from cloud it deleted all my previous messages, and I can't even see them on cloud. I would like to delete them as they are useless if it doesn't restore them.
