Since I upgraded to catalina, I have to reboot my computer 3 or more times a day.

I understand it may take some time to conclude if those apps become unresponsive or not, but restart your Mac in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.


Use it in that mode long enough to draw a reasonable conclusion, then restart your Mac normally (not Safe Mode) and determine if the problems persist.

Sounds like you have installed some crapware that you though would improve your Mac's performance. A failing hard drive is the only other thing I can imagine would cause the behavior you describe.


You can run Etrecheck to see what you have installed.

If you want, you can post the report using the Share Report > Copy Report button and paste it into the Additional text area of a reply, here (document icon in toolbar).
