Apple Watch heart notifications

My Apple Watch is setup correctly to let me know when my heart rate is to high but it is not doing it. I have a heart condition and rely on my watch to let me know when my heart rate is up so I can take my medicine but I been having to check it every ten minutes just to see if my heart rate has gone up.
