Phone is not ringing

Read carefully:

My ringer is on.

The volume is on.

Mute is not on.

Do not disturb is not on.

It is not connected to any Blue Tooth device and ringing somewhere else.

Do you understand that?

My iphone 8X does not ring except for people on my 'Favorites' list.

My phone is not ringing for incoming calls. It does not vibrate, even though it is set to do just that.

I have shut it down. I have 'bricked' it. I have checked all of my settings. I am not a neophyte Apple user. I am over 65, yes. But, one day my iPhone decided not to ring any more except for close friends and family (those 'favorites' I mentioned before). Oh, and I am not deaf.
