I you suspect you have installed adware/malware:
>System Preferences>Profiles. found next to Accessibility (click into it and then remove all the suspicious things from the list.) This Preference pane may not be present if no profiles found.
Adware Removal Guide—Manual removal of : http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-identification/
also Verify you are not using SOCKS proxy:
>System Preferences>Networks>Advanced>Proxy uncheck the box
Adware/malware launch daemons can set SOCKS proxies without user participation.
(SOCKS is an Internet protocol that exchanges network packets between a client and server through a proxy server.)
or as mentioned above you can
Try running this trusted utility https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/
Dude, you're making it worse. You incorrectly labeled something, apologize, learn the correct terminology, and move on like a grown adult.
Then just move on. There is no need to create unnecessary drama jeez. If you want to bicker with someone move it to like Twitter
Can you please explain what that does? I want to understand how that is the better solution.
Okay, you’ve said your piece. Just leave it now. Don’t respond.
And if that doesn't work, then it may be the router. So to amend what Peter said, if anti-virus can't detect anything on your computer, then log into your router and set the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, and ensure anti-virus is enabled on your router.
It is unfortunate that you do not know the definition of "virus". No one here said or implied that Macs do not get malware. It is your computer, you can install what you want. The subject has been discussed in these communities thousands of times and still it ramains that third party anti"virus" apps like Noron are of no value, use system resources while providing no benefit, and may cause problems.
I don't recommend that at all. How is redirecting your traffic through a third party going to make it safer?
My recommendation for a home scenario is invest your anti malware solutions for your windoze kit if you have to and leave your android and Apple stuff to breathe.
This is an Apple forum and you do not appear to be Apple Savvy.
Most home routers from internet providers do not have the facility to apply Anti Malware software.
You should learn the difference between virus and other malware. Third party anti virus apps are not required, use system resources while providing no benefit, and they often cause problems.
