A question about the 2nd Gen Pencil.

Hello!

I had ordered a 2nd gen pencil and an iPad Pro 11-inch a week ago. The pencil has arrived quickly but it's said that the iPad will arrive in 2-3 weeks. This has made me worry about the pencil's battery since it can stay dead if unused and left at 0% for weeks. Or is that just for 1st gen pencils?

The issue of deep-discharge is common to both generations of the Apple Pencil. Damage can occur if the Pencil is allowed to fully discharge - or be allowed to remain in a discharged state.

However, Apple Pencils are shipped in a charged state - and are effectively powered-off (in a shipping state) from the factory. Unless you have “old stock”, you should have no reason to be overly concerned. If you are unlucky, Apple will exchange your Pencil.
