Is anyone else having a problem with motion 5.4.6 opening? I can open a saved project from FCPX but it will not open a new project.
Luis, I figured it out. It was a 3rd party plugin that wasn’t compatible with Motion 5.4.6. Create a new finder window and go to Motion Templates. Create a new folder called TEMP PLUGINS and drag it to a new finder window. Move all Plugins from the COMPOSITION FOLDER, GENERATORS FOLDER, TITLES FOLDER, TRANSITIONS FOLDER into the TEMP folder. LEAVE THE EMPTY COMP, GENERATOR, TITLES, TRANSITION folders in Motion. Restart Motion 5 and it should open now. Then you can slowly drag the plugins back into Motion from the TEMP folder to see which plugin is causing the issue. Depending on how many plugins you have it may take some time. Give it a try and let me know. It worked for me.

Thanks so much. I had tried every other fix here and after Google Search. Turned out to be Pixel Film Studios's ProExplainer (Generator). All works fine again.
Yes, there is a very recent thread on that same problem.
Did you try the usual: delete preferences; download a fresh copy from the App Store?
Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Maybe there is some commonality we can find with the other user seeing the same problem.
That Etrecheck report may help figure it out. No guarantees, of course, but as I wrote before if we see something in common with the other user (that we know of) having the same issue...
Yes, I cleared preferences, cleared NVRAM, un-installed it, disconnected all connected external drives, re-installed new app from app store, and same issues happening.
