Mac's instructions do not work: when I go to the keychain access menu, the suggestion is that I change the password for keychain access. The Edit menu shows the appropriate command, which is greyed out.
The problem arose probably from a change in computer, with data transferred from the old to the new

Excellent to receive your suggestion: for a long time, here in Italy, I have been obtaining messages to the effect that support was not available at the moment, try again. The Mac pages on line give me interesting information, but not with clear solutions. Now, I'll try Google. Many thanks.
The problem with Keychain's continual request for a password seems to have been solved by my changing the password for entering the computer. Thank you.
