Mid-2014 21.5" iMac as external monitor for PC

Is this possible? iMac has Thunderbolt 2 port; HP Elitebook 850 PC has Thunderbolt 3. With an appropriate adapter, can I use the iMac as an external monitor for my PC? I've found a lot of contradictory information online. Some say yes, some say no.

Would make working at home much easier!
