What is the most efficient way to save music from my CD collection to the cloud? I have an external CD drive.

Rip the CDs so that you have digital files on your computer: Import songs from CDs into Music on Mac - Apple Support

Then...

I also recommend that you keep a backup on local physical media such as an external hard rive.
