Can you edit the preset news choices in Apple News?

Is there any way a user can decide what news they want to see in the preset section? I want to see what I want, not what someone else wants or thinks I should see. I don’t want to automatically see election news, coronavirus news, etc. I am the user I should be able to decide what and where I get my news.
