Powering off

I have an iPad mini 4 that keeps powering off when browsing.

The back also gets quite hot to the touch when browsing for a long time but this is not consistent to the powering off problem. Could the overheating be as a result of using a plastic stand when browsing? Occasionally a line appears about three quarters of the way across the screen it’s a fine line that disappears soon after use.

Any ideas what might be causing this please?

As described, you likely have a hardware fault.

You might be best advised to take your iPad along to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - where the technicians can take a look and offer suitable advice based upon their observations and testing.
