Hi! I have an iphone myself but my grandmother just got an ipad. Can you no longer receive text messages from non iphone users on the ipad?

Unfortunately I'm trying to help her from another state to get it up and running.

Unless you have a companion iPhone, one could NEVER text non-iOS based devices from iPad. Your grandmother can text from iPad with other iOS devices only if she doesn't have an iPhone. This is how it has ALWAYS been.

She needs to to do what is detailed in this link to set up text message forwarding from her iPhone to and from her iPad

Sorry forgot to say she does have an iphone. She is getting text messages from only iphone users to her ipad.
