Tried all of the recommended steps (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201444) still got error 4013. iPhone X is stuck at recovery mode. Apple support simply told me there is nothing to be done. Did not offer any other help, or to replace it. :-(

Is your iphone completely full if you look in Settings, General, iphone storage?
Is there many GBs of Other?
Are you still on 13.6.0?
If so, all you can do is wipe it completely and lose anything since your last backup.

If nothing can be done, what other help are you expecting?
Well, how about a replacement?
As problem was not caused by me, but by some software issue during one of the required updates.
So, why should I, or any costumer, bear the costs of a faulty product, for which Apple can not offer help?
OK all we can do ad fellow users is pass on the error codes list; 4013 is USB but a rammed full phone can generate random errors.
And the advice for the stuck on recovery.

If they don't help you can only take or send it in for repair
I'm sorry to hear that. As you can see from the responses above, the only thing I can tell you is: "welcome to the team of frustrated costumers".
There is nothing to be done according to the support. Now is back to you the decision to continue buying their products or not.

Sorry. I can see now you're not following the discussion here. As I originally wrote. Already tried all of this and together with the applesupport on the phone. Nothing worked. A repair would cost 570€.

No, the product has had a hardware failure out of warranty, full stop. This happens sometimes during an update just like on incandescent bulbs they burned out most often when turned on. If you want a new phone buy one.
