T-2 Security chip in SSD drive for Mac Pro

Do I need to revive and then restore the firmware on the T-2 security chip or just restore it after replacing the SSD drive on my Mac Pro (2019)?

Firmware Password Options MISSING in Security Utility Monterey Brand new 16' 2021 MacBook Pro. Have original install of system that I have updated dutifully as updates become available. I cannot add Apple Pay to my Mac because "Security Settings Have Changed." I had not touched the security settings. Nonetheless, I start up in Recovery Mode. The choose the Security Utility from menu. The only options available are Full Security or less than that. Nothing on Firmware. Not on the utility screen, not in any menu. It doesn't help that when you choose Security Utility the language used when you go to quit: Quite Startup Utility. Which is it?? Repeat: I have never touched my security settings. However, I did use Migration Assistant to upgrade from a 2018 MacBook Pro running Mojave. How can I get the firmware options???

FYI: Updating T5/T7 SSD firmware without installing Samsung tools on macOS I am using Samsung external SSDs on a Mac mini (2018). I wanted to check/update the SSD firmware version without installing the Samsung support tools on macOS. This is to avoid adding kernel extensions and possibly granting other privileges that the software requires. For users who have a PC, similar tools (separate tools for the T5 and T7) supplied by a Samsung run under the Windows operating system. I installed each tool on the PC, connected the corresponding SSD, and updated the firmware when necessary. In this way, I was able to perform the update without using my Mac. Once updated, I simply reconnected the SSDs to the Mac mini. Hope this helps. - Pie Lover
