Apple Watch Series 3 Software Up To Date but wont PAIR!!

Tried to pair my iphone x to Apple Watch Series 3. It tells me to "Update Your Apple Watch" To finish pairing, your apple watch must be running the latest version of WatchOS. Then it says watchOS 5.3.8 Your software is up to date. Why does Pairing END?!

If we understand your post correctly, you are trying to pair your iPhone and Apple Watch but you see an alert to update your Apple Watch. We’d like to help.


First make sure both your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated with these steps:


Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Update your Apple Watch


Once both devices are fully updated follow these steps:


Set up and pair Apple Watch with iPhone

I have an updated iphone X running ios 13.7. The watch is a series 3 (actually have 2 series 3 watches and this is happening with both of them) and when I pair it, it prompts me to update the software. Then after about 60 seconds, it says, software is up to date but it is not the newest software update. It is saying WatchOS 5.3.8 up to date but I know that the OS should be 6 or higher. After it says up to date, the pairing stops. I have tried shutting down my phone and watch and restarting them at the same time. I have tried to delete and reinstall apple watch app. To no avail. Cannot pair.
