I had an older model Apple TV and recently bought an Apple TV HD. The HDMI cable that I've been using is larger than the port in the new Apple TV HD, but fits my TV. Can anyone recommend a cable that would fit the larger port on my TV and the smaller port on the Apple TV HD?

As far as I know HDMI ports are the same size. We need to know the specifics of which TV you have including pictures of the HDMI input port.
Do not try to use the top USB-C port for a video connection. Use the HDMI port beneath it; it is the most common size HDMI port (Type A). The top USB-C port is for service and support. I.e. to connect to a computer to restore the system software if needed.
