Red colour lights in notch area

Before bed (in the dark), whenever I try to unlock my iPhone using Face ID I see red lights flashing on the iPhone XR notch. Is it normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve turned my phone off and on, even factory reset the device to see if that would fix the problem but it didn’t.

iPhone 14 pro showing pink static When switching between apps or control center, pink static flashes across the screen. I have a see through case, therefore, it is very annoying to see the screen flashing, when trying to sleep. I have turned off LED Flash in accessibility, turned off auto brightness, cleared the cache and turned the phone off and back on again. Any help in solving this issue, would be much appreciated

Yes, it’s normal. I’m surprised you see them. Have you had cataract surgery? Sometimes that lets you see infrared, which normal lenses block.

That is the infrared scanner that maps your face to identify you.
