iPad is disabled connect to itunes

we forgot the password to our iPad mini. I've tried to do a factory reset but it just says " iPad is disabled connect to iTunes."

I have it plugged into a usb on my iMac and I have iTunes open. What do I do now?

ipad is disabled it says to connect to itunes. I can't figure this out. I'm so frustrated I'm locked out of my ipad. It now says I have to connect to itunes. I tried resetting it and I'm not doing something right because it didn't work.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
