Tried updating iOS for iPad Air 2 using iTunes, now frozen iPad black screen with round iTunes logo

Tried updating iOS for iPad Air 2 using iTunes, now iPad black screen with round iTunes logo with lightning pin (to connect). iTunes on PC (newest version) doing nothing. Please assist. Still need to update iOS on iPad. Did NOT freeze due to incorrect passcode.


So: how do I get past this screen, get PC to recognize the iPad? I have tried running diagnostics a few times, tried all USB ports, two different lightning pin cables, and powered iPad off and on a few times (went to white screen with apple logo only, but is now frozen with the black background, the white lightning pin cable image, a small white arrow pointing toward the colored iTunes logo).


I also tried restarting the PC. I do not have another laptop to trial these efforts on.


My thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.


Need to update the iOS so that I will have full function of my iPad (which is an oldy, but a goody, IMHO).
