email settings are out of date

my icloud email hasn't been receiving emails for a while, which hasn't been a problem because i just used my gmail. now, i recently got logged out of an app that had been registered with my icloud email, and i cant log back in because im not receiving the email on how to change the settings. how do i fix my icloud email?
