Lock iPhone configuration/settings possible?

I have an elderly parent who has become familiar with how to use an iPhone for calls, email and messaging. However, on occasion, becoming more common, he is accidentally changing settings, deleting apps, etc. He has a nasty tendency to press, too long, on an app and then delete it or move it into a folder where it can't be found again.

Is there a way to lock-down an iPhone so no configuration changes can be made?

Would like to set it up and then know he can't change anything unless he specifically goes to a setting or enters a code.

Thanks in advance.!

The only way to do that would be to enroll the device in a managed deployment, which you’d have to administer from a server. That’s the only way to completely lock down a whole device setup.
