how do i delete existing email accounts and set up new ones - or change the passwords on my older mac. I can't access them and my mac keeps telling me the passwords are not accurate (they are). thanks

I'm having the same problem. I can't delete internet accounts. I tried to remove them from within the Calendar, Notes, and Reminder apps as well but it doesn't work. I click the minus symbol to remove the entire account and nothing happens. If i uncheck boxes on the internet account for Mail, Reminders,Notes it lets me uncheck the specific applications but once i click off that account and return the boxes are checked again.
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
Open Sys Prefs>Internet Accounts, remove the Mail accounts there, open Mail>Preferences & Remove accounts there.
